Detox Programme
In our modern time we are constantly exposed to pollutants, chemicals, junk food, coffee, tea,
alcohol, tobacco, and much more. We recommend that you give you entire system a thorough
detoxification at least twice a year and that you help your body with good quality supplements
providing essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals and trace elements to maintain good health.
The programme will help detoxify the colon, intestinal tract, and bloodstream, and will support
strong immune system function. Regular use of Essiac will also help to rid your system of
parasites. Believe me, you are playing host like it or not!!
This formula is believed to normalize body systems by purifying the blood and thoroughly cleansing
the body of harmful toxins.
Dosages for a 2-week detox
We recommend using 1 fl. oz/ 30 ml a day diluted with 2 fl oz/60 ml of hot water for serious
conditions like cancer and other serious conditions. This is still a very good choice
for your daily dose. Essiac could be seen on par with homeopathic remedies where more
is not necessarily better as it works on a very subtle level. It could also overload
your system if the cleansing effect was too fast for the body to deal efficiently with the
effects.
When you have decided to go for a detox it's important to prepare for this period. Cut
out all unnecessary functions and socialising, and cut back on TV watching. Make time
for yourself. Do something relaxing, meditate, enjoy the quietness around, read a book,
listen to music. Do some yoga, pilates or gentle stretches. Wear comfortable clothing
and perhaps also walk barefoot around the house and in the garden weather permitting of
course! Find your Earth connection. Sit in the sun outside if you can and
connect to the sun energy. They are both important for a good balance. Listen
to the leaves in the wind, running water, feel the breeze on your face, hear the grass
grow. In short, connect with nature, but most importantly, use this period to listen
to yourself, be with yourself, give yourself some TLC - connect with yourself.
Don't decide to turn out the attic, paint the house or dig the garden even when you start
feeling the energy coming back. Wait with anything like that until the detox period
is over to get the maximum benefit from your detoxification.
Essiac Tea works not just on the physical level, but also subtly on the mental and emotional
aspects. So you will get the best results from your detoxification if you allow yourself
time and space as suggested above.
Dosages for a Quick 2-week detox
Essiac: Take 1 fl oz/ 30 ml diluted with 2 fl oz / 60 ml of hot water twice a day for two weeks.
Repeat every 4-6 months, depending on level of exposure to toxic substances (pollution, chemicals, etc), and your immediate work and home environment and life style. Dosages depend on your reason for taking Essiac. You can adjust the dosage size according to your individual needs and tolerances.
- Be sure to take the Essiac on an empty stomach at least 2 hours after eating and with nothing taken for another hour. So take the first portion first thing in the morning on waking, and the second as you go to bed at night.
- Ensure that you are drinking at least 2 litres of water a day, and keep that up afterwards!
- This formula is believed to normalize body systems by purifying the blood and thoroughly cleansing the body of harmful toxins.
- Ensure that you get plenty of sleep and stick to a regular life style in this period as this will help your body rid itself of the toxins.
- Go for at least ½ hour brisk walk each day
- Cut out coffee, tea, cocoa, beer, alcohol, fizzy drinks, soda water, and the like.
- Drink water and herbal teas, some suggestions here
- Rose hip tea has a pleasant flavour.
- Red bush tea from S. Africa is a naturally caffeine free tea.
- Green tea adds to the cleansing effect
- Chamomile tea will help to relax you, it's Natures sleeping pill
- Cut out all sugars, chocolate, cakes, biscuits, etc
- Cut back on bread, only have wholemeal bread in moderation

- Cut out white bread, white rice and pasta, only brown rice and whole meal pasta
- Eat plenty of fruit & vegetables, organic if possible
- Take a super supplement multivitamin as directed on product label. Continue
to use as daily supplement.
Environmental toxins are a big concern in industrialised nations. People are exposed
to dozens of toxic substances every day, including:
- air pollution from vehicle and factory emissions
- pesticides in the environment and in the foods we eat
- chemicals in cleaning products, drinking water, etc
- chemical additives in processed foods
- contact with fuels, solvents, etc
- cigarette and cigar smoke - first and second-hand
Co-relation between pollutants & Cancers
Research has shown a correlation between these environmental pollutants and a number
of conditions, including some cancers. It is not surprising that the rate of certain
cancers, such as breast cancer, intestinal and colon cancer, stomach cancer, and
lymphatic system cancers are increasing, in spite of the advances in medicine and
cancer detection technologies.
Although it is impossible to avoid all toxic substances, there are things one can do to
reduce the chances of falling victim to their effects. We recommend a multi-pronged
approach that includes diet, exercise, reduced exposure to toxins, and a periodic
detoxification program designed to purge toxins from the body and bloodstream.
Diet
We recommend a diet that includes:
- Green vegetables rich in vitamins and minerals
- High fibre grains and wholemeal breads
- Cut out sugars - sugar feeds cancer
- Plenty of filtered water - preferably actively filtered, but passive filters like Brita ok, to keep your kidneys clean
- No processed foods, as the majority are loaded with chemical preservatives, sugars, salt, etc.
- Daily multi-vitamin supplement to compensate for the lack of sufficient nutrition in pre-packaged foods
- Immune system enhancing supplements - essiac tea and Co-Q10 is a good combination!
Exercise
We recommend at least three 30-minute aerobic sessions per week, to keep metabolism
levels high and to boost the immune system.
Other Advice
When in a cancer situation it is a good time to have a tidy up in ones mental
'attic'. Let go of old situations, hurts, etc and move on. It is a good time for
a lot of forgiving for any hurts that has been allowed to stay in the system. It is
a tough bit of medicine, but it works, believe me, I've tried it. And it will release
a lot of trapped energy you need to get better.
To remove toxins from the body and bloodstream, we recommend a two- or four-week program
using Essiac tea. The herbs in our tea provide a number of purgative properties.
Water intake - 2 litres a day minimum
It is paramount to drink plenty of water when taking the Essiac tea. You will need at
least 2 litres a day, and in many cases it could benefit you to drink more, especially
if you also are on medication. It is so important to flush the system as thoroughly
as possible, and this should continue when you begin to get better.
Drinking the fluids
Liquid 'medically speaking' is water, not tea, coffee, fizzy drinks, or anything like
that - just plain water. However, you can drink it at any temperature you like, it does
not have to be cold. If you feel like a hot drink try putting a slice of lemon in a mug
of hot water, stir it well and sip it slowly. It really does taste nice, and you might
find that you prefer this to all the cups of tea and coffee we are wont to consume. The
lemon will help to purify your system.
Put a jug of water on a tray with a glass. This will give you water at room temperature
and remind you to drink it. Have a jug by your favourite chair, on the kitchen table, on
your bedside table, and make sue you drink it each day.
Kidneys need water
Your kidneys needs water to function properly to be able to cleanse you system
properly. Drinking plenty will also help with water retention as part of the reason you
retain water is due to not drinking enough water. The body compensates for this by
extracting water from what you eat and stores it for later use in you fatty tissue. As
soon as you start drinking water you will begin to loose the stored water.
Note on Supplements
Many years ago there was not the amount of supplements available as there is now. Even
when fighting serious disease it is important not to overload the body with too intense
and cleansing programme as otherwise it will not be able to cope with the cleansing
results. So watch out and tailor the treatment for maximum benefit.
